Height: 178 cm (5'10)
Weight: 66 kg (145 lbs.)

Family and background:
Fujima is coach & player of the Shoyo team. His rival has been Maki ever since his rookie year, but unfortunately Fujima has never been able to beat Maki. In last year's IH tournament Shoyo lost to Toyotama because Ace Killer Minami injured him so badly that he had to leave the court. Actually Minami didn't mean to really hurt Fujima, he just wanted to frighten him so he would back up. He hadn't thought that Fujima wouldn't be afraid at all. It's not clear if Fujima has any close friends, but his teammate Hanagata seems to be a good friend.

Special abilities:
Fujima has all the right features of a good point guard: he has a good dribble, speed and the abiltiy to deliver marvelous passes. He creates room for his teammates to score, and also provides the team an indescribable mental support. As a coach he clearly knows his team members: their abilities and their personalities.

He isn't just able to pass the ball, he is a good scorer himself! He has a very nice shot and is able to hit short-ranged shots as well as long-ranged three-pointers.

Special features:
He is called the best looking guy of Slam Dunk by many, for his smooth face and quite normal appearance. He wears white sweat bands around both arms. And also, he's a lefty.

Fujima is a very easy going guy, and for that reason and for his amazing abilities he has a lot of female fans. As a coach he is a very calm and silent person, but when he gets on the court his attitude changes and the burning flame inside can be clearly seen.

As team captain, ace player and coach of Shoyo he carries a lot of pressure and responsibility. But Fujima is despite his capability a very modest person with a strong mind.

AnimeAnalyze's opinion:

Rukie: Fujima is a very special person, because he's not only a very capable player, he's also coach of his team. His teammates fully trust him in his decisions. I think Fujima is despite his fame and talent a rather easy going person, in contrary to a lot of (star) players of Slam Dunk. (Akagi, Rukawa and Maki don't seem very friendly, do they?)

Vincent: Fujima is the very core of the team, without him Shoyo is just an average team, like Maki said. I think he is a stereotype point guard: delivering the ball to the right person, making sure that there's always a guy to play the ball to. His calm and fury make him a valuable player.

Rukie: I feel sorry for him that his team didn't get to the district finals and IH games, but on the other hand: is Shoyo really that strong? I think Fujima and Hanagata are good players, but the rest of the team consists of not very special players. But Shoyo will get ready for the Winter IH games. The seniors all decided to stay for that tournament, instead of preparing themselves for college. Still, I don't think they will stand a chance against Kainan or Shohoku. Akagi left Shohoku, but I think Sakuragi will do a nice job defending Hanagata.

Vincent: I don't think they can beat Ryonan either, well Uozumi left so they need someone else to guard Hanagata. But like Rukie said, Shoyo's glorious days are over, with or without Fujima.

AnimeAnalyze's memorable moments:

Rukie: His tears when they lost to Shohoku and couldn't get to the district finals. In the past three years, Fujima has been considered the biggest rival of Maki, but this time he lost before a next encounter. So Fujima had some trouble to control his emotions. Sometimes these kinda moments reflect a player's thoughts the best, they are devoted and determined, but when things don't go that way their dreams are scattered. Mitsui, Kogure, Uozumi and Ikegami all showed that kind of emotions. It's their last year and they all want to play a game without regrets.

I also like the scene that he secretly went to see Kainan playing, he was standing somewhere behind a pilar watching his rival Maki on the court. His teammates noticed him and said: "Although he said he doesn't want to see the game, deep in his heart he wants it very badly."

Vincent: His first score against Shohoku, it shows how good Fujima really is as a player.

AnimeAnalyze's favorite line:

Rukie: "Sendoh and Maki... Don't try to compete for the No.1 Guard title during my absence."

"I don't want to see it. No matter Kainan wins or loses..."

Vincent: A fade away jumper! (About Sendoh)
